The Brindley, Art Centre, Cheshire

A newly completed project for Lamps & Lighting was providing a complete lighting solution for The Brindley, an arts & theatre centre in Runcorn, Cheshire. Due to the contemporary feel of the development suitable lighting was required to enhance its features and compliment the architecture. We supplied all the lighting on this project apart from the specialist theatre lighting.

The development's facilities include a state of the art 420-seat theatre, exhibition & gallery space and a cinema area. The innovative new centre also includes a large studio & darkroom, terrace and café. The lighting scheme included specially manufactured flourescents for exhibition spaces and cove lighting, dimmable via a digital protocol system. Other lighting utilised included, LED step lights used as markers on the walkways and stairs, fibre optic display lighting, and halogen spotlighting. Emergency lighting was specially made, comprising of the standard green man on a black background, instead of the usual white.
